Its uses are : Sentinel node mapping Assist surgeons in localizing the tumors for excision as well as in evaluating the surgical margins for presence of small amount of tumors not visible to the eye. 3. Hyperparathyroidism: Pet and Gamma Probes assist in localizing the hyper parathyroid glands and minimize surgical exploration time. Surgeon can make only a small incision.
